Still life project: Step one

While considering this project I looked around my own house and garden to choose objects that would be readily available in most households. I finally decided that I would set up a still life with a gardening theme as the objects would be fairly large, with a good range of texture and form.

Choosing the objects

First of all, I drew this plant that was growing in a pot outside our back door. This gives a natural feel to the arrangement and prevents the theme from being too man-made.
